The chalk paint class was so much fun. I painted a sign and my cousin painted a bookcase. Vance did a great job of showing us techniques and the setting is fabulous. Highly recommend this class.

You can always count on Vance to make you feel welcome in his home. If you need something, you only need to ask, he’ll make every attempt to make it happen.

What a good decision to hold one of the Growing A New Heart retreats at Bird Hill Farm!
Of all the retreat centers large and small that I have partnered with, Vance was the most attuned retreat host. Not only was the space accommodating—and embracing, a perfect container for the work, the food was delicious and nourishing and respectful of the differing food needs. Bird Hill Farm is filled with beauty. Beautiful touches, moving art, spaces that foster trust. I think this is because Vance has all those qualities and so the experience reflects him: he fosters trust; he is reflective and responsive. He is nurturing and unintrusive. All the participants talked to me about this, how healing his presence is, how gracious the space is. Without hesitation, I recommend holding you retreats and events at Bird Hill Farm.
ERIKA, July 2021: Vance was an amazing host. He was warm, genuine, funny, and such a pleasure to work with. He made us feel very welcome on his beautiful property. We had a delicious multi-course breakfast and a scrumptious lunch. It was the perfect space for our small team retreat. Thank you for a wonderful day!

We had a wonderful time! It’s charming and rustic. Vance is a great host and his dogs are adorable. The meals were fantastic and tea by the fire in the evening is very cozy. Vance makes a killer apple cake. The area was beautiful and fun to explore. Great trails nearby. Definitely recommend staying here!

The house is beautifully maintained, discretely decorated, with interesting pieces of art...Combined with vintage utilitarian objects and well taken care off plants, the house sets up the tone for a calming experience. The original wood flooring throughout the house is precious...The outdoors has beautiful flowers, a large lawn and a parking spot.
Vance himself was very thoughtful and caring and great in communication, while observing the covid restrictions, as we did. He is a virtuoso of breakfast making to the point where he shall give lessons to other Airbnb hosts!! The bar is high now and so our future Airbnb stays will be doomed in comparison...
The room was very cozy and clean, with a nice bed and furniture for a comfortable stay. The bathroom was perfectly clean and rarely large!
The location of the house is awesome, next to Grenville Park, which totally worth a walk-through at the least! The proximity to the town is great while the nights are super relaxing since there is almost zero traffic. The regional street conditions are great for local trips to enjoy nature. Whenever we decide to visit this part of Massachusetts, we'll love to stay again at Bird Hill Farm! Thanks Vance!
